It’s been quite a while since I’ve shared my evening skincare routine. Four years to be exact. Everything has changed since I last shared it so I figured it was time for an update. Keep on reading to see what I do before going to bed.

Note: the LumiSpa and Sephora links are affiliates, the rest are not.
Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water
I still start my routine with micellar water and the one I’m currently using is from Caudalie. I first tried this one as a sample and fell in love with it so I bought the full size. It’s the first one that I try that does NOT sting my eyes at all.

This is the only product that I use on my eyes whether I wear makeup or not. I put one pump on a cotton pad and wipe/clean one eye, then I pass the cotton pad all over half my face. Then I take another cotton pad with another pump and do the other eye and that half of my face. I do this as the first pass at removing whatever is on my face (makeup, sebum, pollution, etc).
This one smells very nice. It’s very light but has this grape scent to it.
I bought the Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water from BeautySense.
SkinMedica Facial Cleanser
The second step I do is a cleanser and this one from SkinMedica is what I’m using for now.

This cleanser works really well, but I find that it leaves my skin feeling a little bit tight once I’m done rinsing it off. Don’t get it in your mouth either, it tastes horrible, lol! I still like it though. Most cleansers leave my face feeling tight so that’s nothing new, and this one only does it a little bit.
I use this with a cleansing tool, which I share below.
I won this SkinMedica Facial Cleanser in an Instagram giveaway. You can buy it on BeautySense.
Nu Skin ageLOC LumiSpa
With my cleanser, I use this LumiSpa. It’s really soft on the skin with its silicone head.

I’ve been using this device for over three years now and I absolutely love it! It makes my face feel so soft and smooth. There are three heads that you can use with it and I use the gentle one. The device has a two-minute cleansing cycle, with an “alert” every 30 seconds to let you know to move to a new area (divide the face/neck into 4 areas).
Full disclosure: Nu Skin is an MLM and I have an account with them. I don’t actively work the business, but I can still sell their products.
If you have any questions you can ask me or check out the product online (link to my store).
SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.25
After I’ve rinsed off the cleanser and patted my face dry I apply this SkinMedica Retinol Complex 0.25. It’s been working great for me with zero irritation on my face.
Read more on INCIDecoder (same ingredients as the 0.5 version, just different concentration of retinol).

Once my face is completely dry I apply one pump all over my face, but I don’t put it on my neck. I did at first and I think it irritated the skin there (it’s like I got eczema, twice, never happened before), so now I just do my face.
Once I’ve applied the retinol I wait a couple of minutes before moving on to the next product. During this time I clean and dry my LumiSpa and put it away. Then I brush my teeth. I have an electric toothbrush that has a two-minute cycle so it’s perfect. And 2-3 times a week I also floss. After all of that, I’m ready for the next product.
There is also a 0.5 and a 1.0 version of this retinol, but I’ve been good at 0.25 so I’ll stay here for now. Maybe next year I’ll try the 0.5 version. We’ll see.
I first won this retinol in an Instagram giveaway (with the cleanser mentioned above) and I have since repurchased it on BeautySense.
SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier
I’ve been using a hyaluronic acid serum for a few years now and am always trying new ones. The one I’m currently on is this one from SkinCeuticals and it’s been working well. This is my second bottle. This one is a blend of ingredients and not a straight hyaluronic acid serum, but it’s the same idea.

This bottle has a dropper to dispense the product so I put 1.5 drops on my forehead, one drop on each cheek, and two drops on my neck (one on each side). I NEVER touch the dropper to my face, I’m VERY careful about that. And then I massage it all in. It absorbs well into the skin and leaves it feeling soft.
I bought this SkinCeuticals H.A. Intensifier on BeautySense.
Alumier MD AluminEye
After that, I move on to my eye cream, and the current one in my rotation is this one from Alumier MD.

I put maybe 2/3 of a pump on my ring finger, share it on the same finger on the other hand and gently pat around my eye area. It absorbs well into the skin and leaves it feeling well moisturized.
I can’t say that I’ve noticed an improvement in the skin around my eyes though. I rarely do with eye creams. This one is still nice to use and I’m glad that I got to try it.
I won this eye cream in an Instagram giveaway. You can only buy Alumier MD products from medical spas and doctors.
Yeouth Day/Night Cream
Then comes the time for my moisturizer. I’m currently using this day & night cream from Yeouth that I received last year for review purposes.

This cream has a gel-cream consistency and absorbs well into the skin. Since it’s meant for day and night, it’s not as heavy as night creams can be. Because of that my face often feels like it needs a little extra moisture once I’m done massaging it in. Over the summer I was fine, but now with the dry winter air, this cream is not enough.
I have to say though that this cream is at a great price point for the quantity that you get. It’s $23.95 CAD on Amazon and there’s 118mL (4 fl. oz) of product in there.
Soo’AE Unicorn Glow Sleeping Mask
To add extra moisture to my face I finish off with this Soo’AE Unicorn Glow Sleeping Mask. I did not initially buy it for this purpose, but it’s been helpful when I need the extra boost which has been every night this winter.

I apply this sleeping mask all over my face and neck and it’s been great at adding that extra moisture that my skin needs. It has a pleasant scent too; it smells sweet and fruity. It’s very faint though and doesn’t linger on the skin.
I bought this Soo’AE Unicorn Glow Sleeping Mask at Walmart, but it doesn’t seem to be available anymore.
LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask
I forgot to include this product in my group shot, but before going to bed I always apply the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask on my lips.

I’ve already done a full review on these, but the bottom line is I LOVE THEM! They work so well and I wake up with soft lips.
I bought mine on Cosmetic Love, but you can also buy these at Sephora Canada (or Sephora US).
Textures
Here’s a look at what all of these products look like. Except for the Caudalie Micellar Cleansing Water because that one just looks like plain water. And the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask you can see in that review.

Final Thoughts
And there you have it; my full evening face care routine. I’m constantly learning more about my skin, even when I have a solid routine that makes it feel great like I do right now. I feel that there is always room for improvement somewhere. And there’s always new research and new key ingredients that come out that I want to try. Our skin evolves, and our skincare needs to evolve with it.
I’ll be honest: you may not see many of these products in future updates. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all good. Great even. But I just feel like there’s something better for me. Or maybe it’s just the blogger in me that likes trying new things. 😉
What I can say is that you’ll definitely see the LumiSpa again because that cleansing tool is awesome. And the LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask too. It may be different flavours, but that one is staying. You may see the SkinMedica Retinol Complex again too. I really like that one so I’ll probably stick with it. The rest though is up for replacement.
That being said, if there’s any product in this list that you’re thinking of trying out then go for it! They’re all really good; I have nothing bad to say about any of these products.
What do you use?
– Chantal 🙂
