Caudalie Paris is one of those brands that I’ve always wanted to try, but I just never got around to it. I think the main reason is that I’m not close to a Sephora so I don’t physically see the brand often, so it’s the “out of sight out of mind” thing happening here. So I was really excited when I received the opportunity to try their products thanks to Beauty Sense, and today I’ll be sharing with you the two products that I’ve been using for the past 5 weeks: the Premier Cru The Eye Cream ($110 CAD) and the Resveratrol [Lift] Night Infusion Cream ($88 CAD).

If you are unfamiliar with Caudalie Paris, the brand began in Bordeaux, France, in the 1990s by a wife and husband team who discovered, thanks to a professor, that grape seeds contain the most powerful antioxidants in the world (read the full Caudalie Paris story). Their brand is centered around the grapevine and the many benefits found in each component. The word Caudalie is a wine term that refers to the unit of measurement for the time the flavours of a wine linger on the palate after tasting it. Their products are as natural as possible with NO parabens, phenoxyethanol, phthalates, sodium laureth sulfate, mineral oils, or ingredients of animal origin.
Sounds like a great brand, right?!
Premier Cru The Eye Cream
The first item I was interested in trying was the Premier Cru The Eye Cream. The Premier Cru line is their “crème de la crème” collection that brings together their 3 exclusive patents, with some of the most effective anti-ageing active ingredients at their optimal concentration. Given that I’m in my early 40s and I have some fine lines and wrinkles developing around my eyes, this eye cream sounded like the ideal product for me.

For some reason I expected this eye cream to be heavy, but it is not. The texture is really luxurious; it’s creamy and rich without being heavy, and it gets absorbed by the skin really well and leaves it well moisturized. It also works great under makeup. A little goes a long way with this eye cream. A full pump is WAY too much for me! I use maybe a quarter to a third of a pump, and I use it morning and night. This eye cream has no scent.

Did I notice any improvements in my eye area? Honestly, I’m not sure. Some days I look at myself in the mirror and think “this eye cream is magic, I can barely see my wrinkle!” (I have a big wrinkle under my right eye which I use as my gauge for effectiveness.) And other days I see that wrinkle as deep as it always was. Could it be because I just didn’t get enough sleep? Maybe. (Fatigue can affect our face/skin immensely.) As I’m finalyzing my thoughts on this review (it’s currently Wednesday evening), my wrinkle looks like the rest of my fine lines, not deeper, so it was a good eye day.
I’ve tried many different eye creams in the last few years and I don’t often see any improvements in my eye area, so I never expect much when trying a new one. My good eye days definitely look better than before and I like to think that this eye cream has something to do with it since I didn’t introduce anything else new into my skincare routine while testing it. But then the “bad” eye days come around and I question it all.

Resveratrol [Lift] Night Infusion Cream
I was in need of a new night cream and the Resveratrol [Lift] Night Infusion Cream sounded really nice. Resveratrol [Lift] is an innovative skincare collection to naturally lift and plump up the skin thanks to a new anti-aging patent developed jointly with Doctor David Sinclair from Harvard Medical School. Once again, early 40s, skin is starting to show early signs of ageing, lifting and plumping sound really nice.

This night cream feels really nice. The texture is, once again, rich and creamy without being heavy. It absorbs well into the skin and leaves it feeling moisturized and plump.
It has a pleasant scent that I would call a mature scent. If I was in my teens I would maybe call it a granny scent, but it’s not “old floral” granny. I really like the scent, but I can’t put my finger on what it actually smells like. It may be a bit strong for people with scent sensitivities though.

After only two weeks of using this night cream I could already see improvements in my skin’s texture; my skin felt and looked smoother. Every time I wash my face I just want to keep touching it because it just feels SO nice! And every time I look in the mirror I can SEE a difference! I have huge pores and I find that they always gave my skin an uneven texture. But now things looks smoother, more even. And, dare I say it, I feel like my pores look less visible. My skin just looks more plump and even. I LOVE this night cream!
Final Thoughts
My first experience with Caudalie Paris was definitely a positive one! Although I like to think that the eye cream really did improve my eye area, I can’t be 100% sure. The results definitely aren’t as obvious as they are for the night cream. The Resveratrol [Lift] Night Infusion Cream is a huge hit for me and I definitely plan on trying more products from the Resveratrol [Lift] collection. The day cream I plan on getting once I finish my current one, and they also have an eye cream. Who knows, that one may work better for me.
Have you tried Caudalie Paris? What products do you recommend I try?
