Deborah Lippmann ”Bad Blood” Nail Polish – Swatches and Review

Hello my willing blood donors! 😉

Welcome to day 2 (of 3) of my True Blood weekend. Today’s nail polish is Deborah Lippmann‘s Bad Blood from the Forsaken collection.

This nail polish is part of a set of 3 mini bottles called Bad Things. The packaging is shown in my post of New Flesh, another polish from this set.

The brush is the same size as it is on the regular bottles (see Human Nature) but the wand is shorter – obviously.

This colour is described as a sheer black cherry. It sure is sheer! And as you can see from the pictures it’s also streaky. I have three coats of polish in these pictures, and no top coat.

I really like the colour, but it’s too bad that it’s so sheer because it would be a beautiful jelly polish if it was a bit more opaque.

I love jelly polishes, but this one is too sheer for my liking. If it looked like this after two coats I’d be okay with it cause the third coat would make it more opaque, but to get this kind of result with three coats is just not enough for me.

While this doesn’t quite work out well on its own (unless you want to do 5-6 coats of polish), it really works well for zombie flesh nails as you can see from my True Blood Nail Art. 🙂

Just for funsies, I really do love vampires. 🙂 A friend bought me this shirt for my birthday a few years ago and I absolutely love it!

What’s your opinion on sheer polishes? Yay or nay?

Come back tomorrow to see my favourite polish from this collection.
