Phillip Adam Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has MANY benefits for the body both internally and externally. It’s the first thing that goes into my body in the morning; I mix 1-2 tablespoons with water and drink it before eating or drinking anything else. It’s not something I usually use ON my body though, but lately I have with the products that I’m sharing with you today. ACV is a star ingredient in Phillip Adam‘s products and today I’m talking about their shampoo and conditioner in the green apple scent.

When it comes to hair care I’m VERY picky about the products I use, especially since I started colouring my hair about a month ago. Knowing that Jayne from Cosmetic Proof used these products on her coloured hair (check out her review) did help make my decision to go ahead and try them myself.

These products are formulated with all-natural based botanical ingredients.

Phillip Adam Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo and Conditioner ingredients

ACV Shampoo

Get all the benefits of apple cider vinegar for hair with Phillip Adam Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo. Our all-natural based shampoo balances the ph level of your scalp, keeps it healthy over time and makes your hair squeaky clean and shiny. Perfect for everyday use, it can be used on all types of hair, colored or virgin. Beautifully scented shampoo formula, free of any harsh ingredients and safe for all ages.

This is the product that worried me the most because using the wrong shampoo on colour-treated hair can strip your colour faster. But (1) it’s advertised as safe for colour-treated hair, and (2) Jayne used it too. 😉

I still have a bit of colour that comes out when I wash my hair so I knew that the suds would be pink-ish, and they were – just the right amount of pink too (the same as with my regular shampoo).

I don’t wash my hair every day anymore because of the colour, so dry shampoos are my best friend. Heck, I even use them on freshly washed hair to help add volume and texture, so I need a shampoo that will help get rid of all that gunk. This shampoo does the trick! It lathers well and it cleans well. I also don’t need an insane amount either; I use the same amount as I do my regular salon brand shampoo.

ACV Conditioner

This finishing rinse is a perfect complement to the Apple Cider Vinegar Shampoo. It has a fresh apple scent, controls static electricity in the hair, maintains the ph balance, and gently detangles, making it an excellent product for fine to normal hair types.

Because my hair is coloured I NEED to use a conditioner. I always have, but now it’s A MUST! Once the shampoo is rinsed out of my hair it feels quite dry and straw-like even though it’s wet. This conditioner makes it feel all soft again. It even feels like it lathers up a little bit when I’m massaging it into my hair and scalp. But once rinsed out my hair feels nice and soft again.

These products smell really good too, just like fresh green apples. Yum!

Final Thoughts

I was hesitant to try these products at first, but they work really well on my colour-treated hair and I have nothing bad to say about them. My hair is clean, soft, and smells good.

The bottles I received are perfect for travelling with 60 ml each, but they also come in 355 ml ($14.50 CAD) and 1 litre ($31.50 CAD) bottles too. They also have a couple of other scents.

You can buy Phillip Adam products on their site or find out what local retailers may carry them.

Have you tried their products yet?
