Fuller lips, it’s something many women wish they had. I love my lips and I’m happy with their plumpness, but that doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t like a little extra oomph added in. Cosmetic procedures can be pricy and not everyone wants to go that route, so thankfully there are products out there [that claim] to help you get a fuller pucker. I tried the Collagen Lip Treatment ($29.99 CAD) from Modèle, let’s see how it worked out for me.

First up, let’s look at the ingredients. This list is taken from the product packing and it differs from the list they have on their site.

The lip treatment has a pearly finish that adds a nice sheen to your lips (which you’ll see in my after picture later), and it smells like sweet vanilla, like an ice cream cone, yum!

The directions say: Apply 3 times daily for first 30 days or until desired lip plumpness is achieved. Maintain plump lips with daily use once or twice each day. Can be used as a base for lipstick too.
The way this lip treatment works is that it increases collagen production over time, hence why you have to use it daily for a period of time for it to work its magic.
I didn’t apply it during the day all that often since I usually have lip gloss on. However, I did apply it religiously morning and night for two full months. This product does not sting your lips or make them tingle like some other lip plumpers can (since those are instant plumpers), it’s just like applying lip balm. And it pretty much feels like lip balm once on as well (smooth and hydrated lips).
This product has clinically shown to visibly restore lip volume by up to 40%.
Now for the moment of truth… can you tell a difference between my before and after lips? (I’m wearing this lippie in the after picture.)

I know that the pictures are lighted differently and the fact that my mouth is a bit more open in the after picture gives the illusion of a bit more fullness, but I assure you that my lips did not increase in volume.
So, this product did not work for me. Is it because I didn’t use it three times daily at first? It’s possible. And because of that I can’t say with 100% sureness that this product did NOT work for me. But I would still expect a wee bit of a change from using it twice daily for two months… am I wrong in thinking that?
Do you have any experience with lip plumpers?
