Kiss New York Pro Touch Matte Powder Foundation Review

Trying new makeup products is always exciting, and I was giddy when I received a box of Kiss New York products to try out. I’ve never tried this brand before either so I was excited to dig into all the goodies! Today I’ll be starting my reviews with their Pro Touch Matte Powder Foundation ($9.99) since it’s definitely the product I’ve used the most.

Double duty pressed powder can be used dry as a matte powder, or wet for a velvety matte finish.

Before we get into anything else, let’s look at the ingredients because I like to know what I put on my face.

The compacts have a sub compartment which house an application sponge and a mirror. The sponge works well and it’s what I’ve been using when applying this product.

This product only has five shades available so it’s not the biggest selection and I’m not sure how inclusive it is.

Looking at the swatches on my arm you’d think that 135 Nude Beige was a perfect match for me, but it’s actually 110 Porcelain that is best for my face. Hence why you never match shades to your arm. 🙂

In this next picture I applied 110 Porcelain dry, which is how I always use it. I did apply it heavier than I normally do so you can see how much coverage it gives. I wouldn’t mind having it a tad lighter to better match my neck and décolleté, but otherwise it’s a pretty good shade for me.

You can also use this powder wet, but I’ve never used a pressed powder that way and would not have been the best person to review its use/functionnality. I also kept forgetting to give it a try wet. 😛

I’ve tried quite a few pressed powders last year and I have a couple that have been well loved (I’ve hit pan on them) so I compared shade 110 Porcelain with them. Here we have Burt’s Bees and L’Oréal.

The Kiss New York powder is a tad darker than the other two, but applied with a light hand it looks fine on me. If you watch my IG stories, whenever I’m at the office this is the face product I’ve been wearing for the past month or so.

I’ll be honest, I do prefer the ingredients of the Burt’s Bees Mattifying Powder Foundation, but the Kiss New York powder offers a bit more coverage and I’ve been loving it. If you’re into pressed powders then this one is worth checking out.

Have you tried anything from Kiss New York?

– Chantal 🙂
