Earlier this summer I was watching a video from Brad Mondo where he was trying drugstore hair products. One of the products he tried and really liked was a dry conditioner from Cake called The Locks Smith. It really seemed to help untangle hair so I was curious to see if it would help with my daughter’s hair when I brush it in the morning. However, that product didn’t seem to be readily available in Canada. So I did some research and the Style Reviving Dry Conditioner from Kristin Ess sounded really good, so I bought it. I decided to add the Style Reviving Dry Shampoo and the Style Reviving Brunette Dry Shampoo to my cart as well since I use dry shampoo almost daily. And here we are with my review of these three products!

Before I get to the products, I’ll first talk about their scents because they all smell the same. And they smell really nice. It’s very fresh and airy. There’s nothing sweet, fruity, or floral about it. It’s simply fresh and airy. And that’s it. 😛
Since the whole point of my order was the Style Reviving Dry Conditioner, let’s start with that.
Style Reviving Dry Conditioner
When you first spray this one it comes out a wee bit wet; there are tiny droplets in your hair. I wait for it to dry then brush it out. Once dry, it turns white. When I’m done brushing my daughter’s hair the hairbrush is full of little white powdery stuff. And if she’s sitting on me, my lap is full of it too.

When I brushed her hair I always sprayed this in first so I never knew if it really worked. One day when my husband was brushing my daughter’s hair, she came to see me to put the “spray” in it because there was this huge knot in her hair. I sprayed the knot then she went back to see her dad. Afterwards, I asked him if it helped and he said “hell yeah!” He said he couldn’t get through the knot, and after I put the dry conditioner in he had no problem getting through it.
There you have it folx, this product really helps untangle hair!
Style Reviving Dry Shampoo
This dry shampoo comes out white, and it’s quite white. I always fluff out my dry shampoo, but this one is just a lot of whiteness.

It works well, but I have other dry shampoos that work just as well with less white cast.
Style Reviving Brunette Dry Shampoo
I never bought a brown dry shampoo before because I’ve been colouring my hair magenta-ish for the past two years. But now that I’ve stopped colouring my hair (for now) and my natural colour is coming back, bring me the brown dry shampoos!

This dry shampoo works well too. It’s like the regular (white) one above, but with a brown tint. The brown blends in perfectly with my natural hair colour and you can’t tell that I put anything in. I wouldn’t even need to fluff it out, but I still do because it helps spread it around and absorb more oil.
Final Thoughts
For me, two of these three products are winners and I think you know which ones. The dry conditioner is a big YES! Even my daughter asks us to put it in when she finds it pulls too much when we brush her hair. And the brunette dry shampoo is the perfect shade for my hair. The regular dry shampoo however is just too white for my liking.
As mentioned earlier, these smell really good too.
I bought these products on Well.ca. The dry conditioner is $18.49, the brunette dry shampoo is $18.99, and the regular dry shampoo is $17.99.
Have you tried these products or this brand?
