Welcome to week three of #FaceMaskFebruary where I did a sheet mask every single day in February. If you missed them, go check out the recaps of week 1 and week 2. And now let’s take a look at week 3…

I always do my face masks at night during my evening skincare routine. Before doing all of these masks I cleaned my face, and for the hydrating masks, I applied my retinol serum and a lip balm. I specify with every mask what products I used after since it varies depending on how the masks make my face feel.
Most masks have a time range that they recommend to keep the mask on, like 10-20 minutes. All the times that I list below are the maximum that they recommended.
Feb 15 – Soo’Ae Hemp Dreams Sheet Mask
Since this is a hemp mask I expected it to have a somewhat herbal scent, but it’s actually very perfumy and not what I was expecting at all. The scent is a bit strong too so it could be problematic for people who have scent sensitivities.
The mask is really soft and really comfortable to wear. It is drenched in essence, but not to the point that it’s dripping down my neck. I cut between the eyes like usual, and I folded the mask back at the temples because it was getting into my hairline, but otherwise, the fit is really good. It wraps under the chin a little bit and it stayed in place, there was no mask goatee.

I kept the mask on for 20 minutes. After removing it I massaged in the remaining essence on my face and it took about a minute to fully absorb. My face was a little bit tacky, but just a little bit, so I proceeded with the rest of my skincare routine as usual, minus the sleeping mask.
I won this Soo’Ae Hemp Dreams sheet mask in an Instagram giveaway from Soo’Ae. I enjoyed it. I’ve tried a few masks from Soo’Ae before (see all my reviews) and always had a pleasant experience.
Feb 16 – Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrogel Mask
This mask smells soapy and a bit perfumy. You can smell it when you’re wearing the mask too, so if you have sensitivities to perfumes it may not be the best mask for you. The scent was starting to be a bit too much for me towards the end of wearing it.
The mask is a hydrogel mask, and those are usually in two pieces. One part covers the upper face down to the nose and cheeks, and the other one covers the lower half of the face around the mouth and the chin. This one also has flaps for the eyes and mouth. I get the mouth flap since you could cover your mouth if you wanted to. But I would never put a mask over my eyes because the essence would most likely sting a lot. So I don’t get the eye flaps. Anywho.
The fit is really good. I did cut between the eyes like always, but otherwise, everything else fits really well. There is enough essence to make the mask adhere well to the face.

I wore the mask for 15 minutes. Once removed, I massaged in the remaining essence on my face and it took less than a full minute to fully absorb. My face was a wee bit tacky, but really not a lot so I proceeded with my products as usual minus the sleeping mask.
I bought this mask at Shoppers Drug Mart. It was nice. I don’t think I’d buy it again, but it’s worth trying at least once.
Feb 17 – Soo’Ae O2 Bubble Anti-Pollution Mask
I did not apply my retinol serum before doing this mask because you have to rinse this one off.
I can’t quite figure out the scent of this mask, but it’s ok and light.
The fit is good. I cut between the eyes like I always do. The material is a bit thick so the mask didn’t stay under my chin and gave me a mask goatee.
This one bubbles, yay! I can feel the tingling on the skin, it’s like a light tickle. It’s quite fun to experience.

Here is a little progression on the bubbles. The first picture is about two minutes in once I was done tweaking the mask all around. And the last one is at the ten-minute mark.

When the bubbles increased it kind of felt like the mask was slowly sliding down my face so I lay down for the last 2 minutes.
I kept this one on for 10 minutes. After removing it I massaged what was on my face for a bit then I rinsed it off. After, I proceeded with my skincare routine starting at the retinol complex all the way to the sleeping mask.
I bought this Soo’Ae O2 Bubble Anti-Pollution Mask at Walmart. I liked it.
Feb 18 – No7 Restore & Renew Face & Neck Serum Boost Sheet Mask
This mask smells like something familiar, like a product I’ve used before, but I can’t remember what. It’s a pleasant scent though. However, it may be a bit strong for those with scent sensitivities.
Both the face part and the neck part wrap around the ears. The fit is a bit tight for me and a bit uncomfortable on the ears, but it’s not painful. The mask makes me feel strapped in, lol! I cut between the eyes, but it didn’t flatten down on my nose because the mask is being pulled back since it goes around the ears. The material is thicker than what I’m used to, but it’s not the thickest mask that I’ve used this month.
There is really not a lot of essence on the mask, there’s just barely enough to keep it moist.

I kept this one on for 20 minutes. After removing it I massaged what was left on my face and it barely took 10 seconds to fully absorb. I proceeded with my routine as usual minus the sleeping mask.
I completely forgot to check if there was any tackiness with this mask, I was just so tired that night. I even forgot to brush my teeth after applying my retinol complex (before putting on the mask). Anywho. Based on how my face felt after applying my moisturizer, I could tell that there probably was some tackiness.
I bought this No7 Face & Neck mask at Shoppers Drug Mart. It’s the first time that I do a mask that goes on the neck, and also one that wraps around the ears. It was a fun experience, but I wouldn’t buy this one again because it was a bit too tight for me.
Feb 19 – MaskerAide Weather Warrior Sheet Mask
This mask has a very faint scent, but it’s very pleasant.
There is not a lot of essence, but enough to make it stay on my face. The essence is creamy white. I cut between the eyes to make it lay down better on my nose, and I folded the mask back at the hairline because it was going into my hair. Otherwise, everything fits well. I got a tiny mask goatee because there was lots of material folded over in the chin area.

I kept it on for 20 minutes. After removing the mask, I massaged in what was left on my face for a good 2 minutes before it was fully absorbed. My face felt a wee bit tacky, but it was a lot less than I expected given how much essence was left. I then applied my products as usual minus the sleeping mask.
I got this MaskerAide sheet mask from my friend Vanessa’s beauty bar, Blush & Rose. However, she doesn’t carry MaskerAide masks anymore.
Feb 20 – HaruHaru Prologue Maqui Berry Lifting Sheet Mask
My daughter didn’t like looking at the packaging of this mask because the monster scared her. The packaging is actually what made me buy this one because I thought it was a hilarious design.
This mask smells really nice. It has a bit of an Aveda scent to it. You know how their products all have a scent to them that you know they’re Aveda? This mask has a bit of that. Anywho, I really enjoy it. It’s not strong though.
This mask is REALLY soft! It has lots of essence too, it was dripping when I was unfolding it. Once I had it on my face it didn’t drip down my chin though. It has a good fit. I cut between the eyes like always and I folded it back at the hairline because it was getting into my hair but otherwise everything was good.

I kept it on for 20 minutes. After removing it there was a lot of essence left on my face, but it absorbed faster than I expected; it took a little over a minute of massaging it in to fully absorb.
My face was tacky so I only used about half the amount of H.A. I usually use, then I proceeded with the rest as usual minus the sleeping mask.
This mask came in a box of 5 so it’s a good thing that I enjoyed doing it, lol! I bought this HaruHaru sheet mask from Cosmetic Love. You can save 10% off your first order at Cosmetic Love by using this link.
Feb 21 – MaskerAide Pre Party Prep Sheet Mask
I can barely detect a scent to this mask.
The mask is a good fit; the eye holes are a bit wide though. I cut between the eyes as usual and I folded it back at the hairline because it was getting into my hair. There is a lot of essence, but it’s not dripping down my neck once I have the mask on. I got a mask goatee at first, but I put it back in place and it stayed put after that.

I kept it on for 20 minutes. After removing the mask I massaged the remaining essence on my face for about one minute. My face felt very tacky so I used about half the amount of H.A. I usually use, then I proceeded with the rest of my products as usual minus the sleeping mask. My face still felt tacky after I was done with my routine.
I got this MaskerAide sheet mask from my friend Vanessa’s beauty bar, Blush & Rose. However, she doesn’t carry MaskerAide masks anymore.
Final Thoughts
All the masks left my face feeling soft and smooth. I enjoyed them all, but I can’t say that any of them wowed me. That’s not true, the HaruHaru mask did because it was so soft! But I don’t need to repurchase it since I have 4 left so I’m good there. Bubble masks are always fun to do and the Soo’Ae Bubble Anti-Pollution Mask bubbled really well so it’s a good one to buy if you want to try one.
That’s all I have to say about this week. It was fun, but a bit lacklustre.
Have you tried any of these sheet masks?
– Chantal 🙂
