Welcome to week two of #FaceMaskFebruary where I do a sheet mask every single day this month. If you missed week one, go check out the recap. And now on to week two…

I always do my face masks at night during my evening skincare routine. Before doing all of these masks I cleaned my face, and for the hydrating masks, I applied my retinol serum and a lip balm. I specify with every mask what products I used after since it varies depending on how the masks make my face feel.
Most masks have a time range that they recommend to keep the mask on, like 10-20 minutes. All the times that I list below are the maximum that they recommended.
Feb 8 – The Crème Shop Brighten Up, Skin! Llama Sheet Mask
This mask smells good. It’s light and pleasant.
This mask was drenched in essence and it was dripping when I was unfolding the mask. It did not drip down my neck once I had it on, but almost.
The material is really soft for a printed mask (printed masks tend to be stiff). The mask fits well too. I cut between the eyes, but I almost didn’t have to. The mask felt a bit heavy, it’s like I could feel it sliding down my face very very slowly. I laid down on the floor in my room and the sliding feeling stopped.

I kept it on for 20 minutes. After removing it there was a lot of essence left on my face, it felt like I massaged it in for a good 3-4 minutes. After that, my face felt very tacky. Because of that I skipped my H.A. serum and went straight for the eye cream and moisturizer. I also skipped the sleeping mask because my face was well hydrated and moisturized.
I bought this The Crème Shop Llama Sheet Mask in a box of three at Winners. I’ll happily do the other masks.
Feb 9 – The Crème Shop Tidy Up, Skin! Frog Sheet Mask
This mask smells nice. It’s light and pleasant.
This one has lots of essence too, but a bit less than the llama mask. This one was a bit stiffer than the llama mask, but it was still soft. It fits well. I cut between the eyes as always, but I almost didn’t have to. It touched down in the middle of the nose, but I wanted it to touch down on the sides as well. The rest fit good. This one did not feel like it was sliding down my face like the llama mask did.

It kept it for 20 minutes. After removing it I massaged in the remaining essence on my face for about two minutes. I expected my face to be really tacky given the amount of essence that was left, but there was minimal tackiness. So I proceeded with the rest of my skincare routine as usual, minus the sleeping mask.
I bought this The Crème Shop Frog Sheet Mask in a box of three at Winners. I’ll happily do the other masks.
Feb 10 – Masque BAR Oxygen Bubble Bamboo Charcoal Sheet Mask
I did not apply my retinol complex before using this mask like I usually do with regular sheet masks because you have to rinse this one off once you’re done.
This mask smells soapy. It’s not as pleasant as other masks with soapy scents, but it’s still not bad. It’s like it’s missing a perfumy side to it.
The material is really soft! And the mask fits well too. I did not cut between the eyes for this one given that it’s a bubble mask.

I kept it on for 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the bubbles never increased. If anything, there were fewer bubbles at the end than what you see in the selfie above.
Once I removed the mask I massaged what was left on my face for a bit then I rinsed it off. After, I proceeded with the rest of my evening skincare routine starting off with the retinol complex and going all the way to the sleeping mask.
I bought this Masque BAR Oxygen Bubble Bamboo Charcoal Sheet Mask at Shoppers Drug Mart. I don’t plan on buying it again given the lack of bubbles. I’ve tried other bubble sheet masks that worked better than this one.
Feb 11 – Maskingdom Taiwan Guava & Black Tea Facial Mask
This mask has a 2-step process. The first step is a serum (in the round part at the top of the packaging), and the second step is the sheet mask.
Step 1 – serum
The serum has a very very faint perfumy scent; I can barely smell it. It’s pleasant though. There is a lot of serum. I massaged it around for a bit, but I did not wait for it to fully absorb before putting on the sheet mask.
Step 2 – sheet mask
The essence on the mask has a soapy scent. It’s nice. There is lots of essence. It’s almost dripping down my chin but not quite. I cut between the eyes like I always do, but it still didn’t want to lay flat around my nose. Otherwise, it fits well.

I kept it on for 20 minutes. After removing it there was a lot of essence left on my face. I massaged it in for a good 2-3 minutes. My face felt quite tacky afterwards so I used about half the amount of H.A. I usually use, then followed up with my eye cream and moisturizer. I skipped the sleeping mask.
This is the second time that I do this mask; I first did it during my previous month of masking. I had bought two by mistake. Thankfully I liked it the first time so I didn’t mind doing it again.
I bought this Maskingdom mask on Chuusi, but it’s no longer available.
Feb 12 – Masque BAR Wrinkle Reducing Sheet Mask
The mask smells kind of perfumy, but it’s not too strong. It’s not my favourite scent though.
I find that this mask lacks essence for something that is meant to be worn for up to 30 minutes. I expected it to be drenched, but it’s not.
The mask material is a bit thick. It has LOTS of slits all around, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many. I don’t get the eye flaps, I wouldn’t cover my eyes with them because I wouldn’t want the essence to seep into my eyes. There isn’t that much essence on this one that I doubt I’d get any in my eyes if I did close the flaps. But it’s just not something I do with my masks. I didn’t cut between the eyes because I did not feel it would make a difference with this one. The fit is ok. The thickness makes the mask a bit stiff and the it raises in a lot of places (see selfie below).

I was going to keep the mask on for 30 minutes, but I had enough after 25 minutes so I took it off. The mask was lifted in a lot of places by that point and the scent wasn’t doing it for me.
There was not much essence left on my face and it was fully absorbed in maybe 20 seconds of massaging it. My face felt a bit tacky so I proceeded with my products as usual, minus the sleeping mask.
I bought this Masque BAR Wrinkle Reducing Sheet Mask at Shoppers Drug Mart, but I don’t plan on buying it again.
Feb 13 – For Beloved Girl Skin Renewal Mineral Cloud-Silk Mask
This mask has a very light scent, I can barely tell what it smells like. But it’s pleasant when I do detect something.
The mask is really thin and so comfortable. I added little slits between the eyes, but I did not need to cut all the way through to make the mask lay down better on my nose. There is enough essence, but it’s not drenched like other masks that I’ve tried. There is still a good amount and it is perfect to keep the mask on my face.

I kept it on for 15 minutes. Once removed, I massaged in the remaining essence on my face and it was fully absorbed within one minute. My face was a little bit tacky, but not too much. I proceeded with the rest of my routine as normal, minus the sleeping mask.
I won this For Beloved Girl sheet mask in a giveaway from Cosmetic Proof last year. I am glad that it came in a box of three because I really loved this mask and will happily do the other ones.
Feb 14 – Oh K! Brightening Watermelon Sheet Mask
A pink mask for Valentine’s Day!
I expected this mask to smell like watermelon, but it was just very perfumey. The scent was strong on the first whiff, but once I had the mask on my face, I could not detect the scent at all.
There is a good amount of essence, but not that much. Kind of the same as the For Beloved Girl mask from yesterday. After I applied the mask, I grabbed a little bit of essence from the pouch to add more onto the cheek area.
The mask was very soft. It was softer on one side so that’s the side that I put on my face. I cut between the eyes like I always do, but it didn’t quite lay down on both sides of the nose. It still helped a bit. The mask stayed well under the chin and there was no mask goatee. Overall, the fit was very good.

I kept it for 20 minutes. After removing it I massaged the remaining essence on my face for about 30 seconds. My face was a little bit tacky, but just a little bit, so I proceeded with my face care as usual minus the sleeping mask.
I bought this Oh K! sheet mask at Shoppers Drug Mart. I enjoyed this mask and would do it again.
Final Thoughts
All of these sheet masks made my face feel smooth and soft. But there were still some masks that I would not repurchase because the experience wasn’t as pleasurable as other masks. You probably know which ones already, they’re the Masque BAR masks.
The star of the week was the For Beloved Girl sheet mask. It was so thin and fit so well. I’m really happy that I have two more.
The other masks that I really liked were the Oh K! mask and the The Crème Shop printed masks. Printed masks tend to be thick and stiff and these ones were not. I’ll definitely be looking for more when I go to Winners again (at some point this year hopefully).
Have you tried any of these sheet masks?
– Chantal 🙂
