Monthly Purchases: July 2021 – Beauty Products

Ahh shopping, I don’t think I could ever go a month without buying anything. I could definitely spend less, but there are always core products that I need to repurchase. With that said, let’s see what beauty products I bought in July.

Body Care

Looky – Gel Nail Polish
I first heard about this brand when Melanie (@mininekomtl) posted about them in her IG stories. They’re Canadian (from QuĂ©bec) and they have 3-in-1 gel polishes which are my favourites. I just HAD to try them out. In early July they had a promo where if you bought four products you got a fifth one free so I placed an order. That also qualified me for free shipping, yay! I only tried one colour so far, but the formula was great so you’ll definitely be seeing them again in future monthly purchase roundups (and a review of that colour soon).

SweetSpot – Unscented Gentle Wash (R)
This product has appeared in my monthly empties and purchases many many times, and you’ll keep seeing it because it’s a must-have for me. It’s gentle enough to wash your sweet spot 😉 (that is what it’s made for) and I also use it on my face when I wash it in the shower. This product has a new look (it used to be a white container).

Face Care

essence – fruit kiss lip balms
I don’t need lip balm right now, but I do use it regularly so it never goes to waste. Every time I go to Shoppers Drug Mart I always scan the essence display quickly, and these lip balms caught my eye the last time I was there. I bought 01 Raspberry Dream and 06 Coconut Lust. I’m working on a review for them so keep an eye out for that.

Institut EsthĂ©derm – Intensive Hyaluronic Serum (R)
This is now my go-to hyaluronic acid serum. I really like it; it absorbs well into the skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth, and it has a wonderful light fresh scent. I buy it from my friend Véronique, owner of Vie Esthetic Studio.

SkinCeuticals – Silymarin CF
This is the third Vitamin C serum that I try from SkinCeuticals, but it’s my first time trying this one. This one is an oil-free formula intended for oily and blemish-prone skin. I wanted to try this one since the air is very humid here in the summer and it makes my combination skin lean more on the oily side. So I figured that it would be a good Vitamin C serum to use in the summertime. So far so good!

Hair Care

Glop & Glam – Shampoo & Conditioner
The hair salon that I take my daughter to carries this brand. Both the Candy Apple Shampoo and the Cake Batter Hydrating Conditioner have natural lice preventative ingredients. That is what really attracted me to these products. We all know that lice go around schools so I’ll do what I can to prevent my daughter from getting them (she’s going into grade 2). On top of that, these products smell SO GOOD!

Schwarzkopf – BC Bonacure pH 4.5 Color Freeze Rich Micellar Shampoo (R)
I’ll be needing shampoo shortly so I bought this one from my hairstylist. When I purchased this shampoo I was planning on having my hair coloured later this year, but I’ve since decided to enjoy my natural colour for now. This is still a good shampoo and it smells really nice too (I’m currently using the conditioner).

And those are my beauty product purchases for July. There weren’t that many extra products this time, just the gel nail polishes and lip balms weren’t needed right now. And also my daughter’s hair products because she was using mine. But I really like that these have natural lice preventative ingredients.

Have you tried any of these products? Do you see anything you’d like to try?

– Chantal 🙂
