Today I’m sharing with you my experience with the MOOM Organic Hair Removal kit with Tea Tree (Classic). I bought this wax last year at terra20 and finally used it last month. Actually this product is wax-free so I should not call it a wax… hair remover it is! 🙂
This hair removal kit comes with everything you need to wax your legs: the hair remover (obviously), wooden applicators and reusable fabric strips. Oh, and instructions too!
You can heat this product in the microwave and you can also heat it on the stove top, which is what I did since my daughter was in bed for the night and I didn’t want to risk waking her up with the beepings from the microwave.
For the stove top method you put it in a pan with water and heat it up. Place it in the water from the beginning so the container heats up with the water. It only took around 5-7 minutes for the product to be ready, which is way faster than I expected.
What attracted me to this hair remover was that it’s organic and 100% natural. Obviously it’s water soluble too, which is what I always get because of my reusable strips (which I now have more of).
I find this product smelled like a sweet chamomile tea, which was pleasant.
Now onto the waxing… in short, it didn’t work well for me. Here’s why: I had to go over every area 2-3 times and I still had lots of hairs left. I found I had to massage the cotton strips a lot, and I mean A LOT. You always have to massage the strips a bit for them to really grab onto the wax, and at the same time to make sure that your leg hairs are well coated/wrapped into the wax. But I found this hair remover needed a lot of massaging for it to work at its best, and even then its best really wasn’t that good for me.
The container is really small too; I’m not sure how someone could do both full legs with only one pot. I only did below my knees – heck I didn’t even finish cause it was time to reheat the stuff and I couldn’t be bothered – and by then there only was about 1/2″ left. Granted I had to go over lots of areas more than once so that did contribute to the product being used up quite fast, but the hair removal just was not working for me with this one.
So it’s safe to say that I will not purchase this product again.
What hair remover/wax do you use?
