The cold and dry air of the winter brings dry skin to many people, myself included. I apply body lotion religiously all year round, but I reach for heavier creams and lotions during the colder months. I had previously received two samples of the Weleda Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream in travel size ($4.49 CAD/10ml) and I loved them so much that I just HAD to buy more! And of course, I went with the biggest format at 75ml ($22.99 CAD).
First off, let’s take a look at what’s in this product.

The cream has a light yellow colour and is very thick & rich. It has a bit of an oily feel when you massage it in, but gets absorbed well into the skin and leaves it feeling smooth and soft.
I received my firt sample in the Spring of 2018 and I used it on my lips. It was a HUGE savious during my Lip Balm Detox. I’ll be honest though, I don’t know if it’s ok to be used on the lips, but I did and it helped tremendously.
I wash my hands often and always moisturize, but I use a variety of moisturizers depending on where I wash my hands (I have lotions and creams everywhere). And although I moisturize all the time, my hands are still dry, especially on my knuckles. This winter I’ve been using this Weleda cream on my hands and it has helped them A LOT. It instantly gets rids of the dry spots on my knuckles and I can almost hear my hands do a sigh of relief. It’s really been a dry skin saviour for me.
After using this cream I can attest that is really is skin food. If you have dry skin (hands, elbows, etc.) you really need to try it. I mean, I did buy it after trying a sample because I loved it that much!
