It’s been a while since I’ve taken the time to do my nails, and last week I finally did! It feels so good to have painted tips again, and this colour from essence sure hit the spot. This one is called 109 glitter choc.

glitter choc is a beautiful dark chocolate with purple tones, and it’s full of micro flakies that give it a sparkle. It’s such a dark brown that it looks almost black on the nails, but the flakies make it come alive when a light shines on it.

I realized too late that my ring light was not the best lighting option for this nail polish; it doesn’t show the true beauty of the flakies. I always try to include a picture in direct sunlight as well, but it’s been cloudy every day since I’ve done my nails so we’ll have to settle for an overcast lighting shot that I took on my way to work yesterday morning. It still shows the flakies a lot better though.

This colour was fully opaque with two coats, but I like to do three coats with dark shades, so these pictures are three coats of glitter choc finished with a layer of gel topcoat (the kind that you have to cure).

I LOVE IT! This is such a me shade.
I noticed that the essence display at Shoppers Drug Mart has a new bottle format for their nail polish so I don’t know if they still have the same colours or not. Have you grabbed some of their new colours/bottles? I have one that I’ll be trying in the coming weeks so keep an eye out for it.
