Looky is a new-to-me brand that I discovered from Mélanie (@mininekomtl) when she posted about them in her IG Stories a few months ago. I’d never heard of them before so I checked them out. To my surprise, they’re a Canadian brand (from Québec) that makes 3-in-1 gel nail polishes, which are my FAVOURITE! (They make many other products too.) At the beginning of July they had a sale where if you bought four gel polishes you got a fifth one free, so I placed an order. One of the colours I ordered was this beauty called 508 Dana. Let’s take a closer look.
508 Dana is from the Milky Collection and it’s this gorgeous milky aqua colour. It was patchy with only two coats, but a third coat fixed all of that. Being a 3-in-1 formula you do not need to use a base coat or a topcoat. You apply your colour and that’s it!
I really like how the colour of the polish is on the cap. This makes it so easy to see your colours when looking at your collection. The cap colour for this one is very close to what it looks like on the nail, it just leans a tiny bit mintier. But the difference is so small that it’s almost not worth mentioning.
Gel nail polishes usually last longer than regular nail polish and I was curious to see how this brand would compare. These were my nails at the two-week mark. There was a tiny chip on my pinky, but that was it. And you couldn’t see the chip unless you looked at my hand up close like in the picture. This longevity is exactly what I was expecting and it delivered!
508 Dana is definitely my type of colour. When I placed my order I initially filled my cart with a bunch of similar colours (from minty to aqua) and settled on this one. I was not disappointed one bit, this colour is PERFECT!
I usually remove my manicure after two weeks, but I procrastinated with this one and kept it on for three weeks. At the end of the three weeks, I got a big chip on my index finger which prompted me to remove it all. It lasted really well; exactly like I expected it to.
I’m really happy with the quality of this first gel polish that I tried and am looking forward to trying more of the colours that I bought. I’ll definitely be buying more as well.
