Welcome to #FaceMaskFebruary where I’m doing a face mask a day for the entire month! In fact, all the masks in this first week were purchased two years ago in preparation for that previous month of masking. But I had so many masks that I didn’t get through them all. Anywho, let’s get on with week 1!
I always do my face masks at night during my evening skincare routine. Before doing all of these masks I cleansed my face then applied my retinol serum and a lip balm. I specify with every mask what products I used after since it varies depending on how the masks make my face feel. There is one step that I skipped completely all week and that is the sleeping mask because my face was well hydrated and moisturized from doing the masks.
I would usually list the ingredients for the essence of the sheet masks, but I was not able to find them for many of these masks. Oh well.
Most masks have a time range that they recommend to keep the mask on, like 10-20 minutes. All the times that I list below are the maximum that they recommended.
Feb 1 – ARITAUM Fresh Power Essence Mask in Collagen
This mask smells nice. It’s soapy and a bit perfumy, but not overwhelming. It’s light and pleasant.
The essence of this mask is white. There is a good amount on the mask, but not too much. The mask fits well. I had to cut extra slits at the eye area to make it fit better, and I had to fold back the sides because they were getting into my hair. But otherwise, the fit was good. It stayed well under the chin and gave no mask goatee.
I kept the mask on for 20 minutes. After removing it, I massaged in the essence that was left on my face. It was almost fully absorbed after about two minutes, and my face felt so soft when I was massaging it. My face did not feel tacky at all. I could still feel the essence a bit, but it was not tacky or oily or anything. My face was just well moisturized.
I followed up with the rest of my routine as usual, minus the sleeping mask.
My face felt great! It was soft and smooth. And it looked calm; not as red as it usually is.
I really enjoyed this mask and want to try more from this collection.

Feb 2 – A’PIEU Icing Sweet Bar Sheet Mask in Watermelon
This mask smells like watermelon. It’s kind of that fake watermelon scent a bit, but I really enjoy it. It’s light and pleasant.
This mask has a lot of essence. It’s not dripping down my neck, but almost. The mask fits small, and the holes are small. I had to cut the eye holes bigger because they covered the outer edges of my eyes. The mouth hole I left as-is cause that one I don’t mind. The mask barely wraps under my chin, but it stayed in place thanks to the thin (and very soft) fabric and the amount of essence.
I kept the mask on for 20 minutes. Once removed, I massaged in the essence that was left on my face. It took about a minute to get fully absorbed. Once I was done, my face felt a bit tacky.
My face felt nice and warm. It wasn’t red, or burning, or unpleasant. I just felt warm on my cheeks.
Since my face was a bit tacky I applied a very small amount of my H.A. serum, then proceeded with my eye cream and moisturizer.
I really liked how thin this mask was, and that it had a lot of essence. But I didn’t like the small holes because it was a lot of work to make it fit right, and that’s really too bad because I really liked the rest.
I bought this A’PIEU sheet mask on Cosmetic Love, but it’s no longer available there and they don’t seem to carry A’PIEU sheet masks at the moment.
Feb 3 – A’PIEU Fruit Vinegar Sheet Mask in Pomegranate
This mask smells like pomegranate, but it’s not too strong. I like it.
This one fits better than the previous A’PIEU mask because the holes are a bit bigger. I still made extra cuts at the outer eyes, but just so the mask lay down better. And I cut between the eyes so it would lay down on the nose better. The material on this one is a bit thicker than the one from day 2 and it gives a mask goatee after a couple of minutes. There was lots of essence, but it did not drip down my neck.
I kept the mask on for 20 minutes. After removing it I massaged in the remaining essence on my face for about one minute and it was fully absorbed. My face a wee bit tacky, but not much. I then followed up with my H.A. serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. My face felt nice.
This mask was good, and I may try another one from this collection just to get another experience. We’ll see.

Feb 4 – A’PIEU Cicative Calcium Sheet Mask
This mask smells really good. I can’t describe it, but I really like it.
The mask is really soft. It has the best fit of all the A’PIEU masks so far; the holes are a good size. I cut between eyes so it would lay down better on the nose, and also at the temples so I could fold it back at the hairline but keep the mask in front of my ears. There is a lot of essence and it’s almost dripping down my neck, but not quite. The essence is milky white.
I eventually got a bit of a mask goatee, but not a full one.
I kept it on for 20 minutes. I massaged in the remaining essence on my face for about two minutes. My face did not feel tacky at all but felt quite moisturized like it was a rich essence. Because of that I only used about half the amount of H.A. that I usually use, then followed up with my eye cream and moisturizer.
My face felt great.
I may try more from this collection.

Feb 5 – Étude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask in Hyaluronic Acid
This mask smells soapy, but it’s nice, I like it. It’s not strong at all.
The mask is really soft and thin and it’s soaked in essence. It doesn’t drip down the neck, but almost. I cut between the eyes like I always do, but otherwise, everything fit really well. It wrapped under my chin and because of how thin the mask is and the amount of essence there was, I did not get a mask goatee; it stayed under my chin the entire time.

I kept it on for 20 minutes. I massaged in the remaining essence on my face for about 2 minutes, there was lots of essence left! My face was tacky after. I skipped my H.A. serum since this was an HA mask, but I applied my eye cream and moisturizer.
My face felt great, soft.
I loved this mask and definitely want to try more from this collection.
I bought this Étude House sheet mask on Cosmetic Love.
Feb 6 – It’s Skin Collagen Nutrition Mask Sheet
This mask smells soapy, but it’s nice. It’s not strong at all.
The mask is thin and soft. It’s not as soft as the Étude House mask from yesterday, but close. It fits well. I cut between the eyes as always. It barely wraps under the chin at all, but there was no mask goatee. It had lots of essence too. It was not dripping down my neck but almost.

I kept it on for 20 minutes. After removing it, I massaged in the remaining essence on my face for about a minute. My face felt a wee bit tacky so I used about half the H.A. amount I usually use, then eye cream and moisturizer.
My face felt smooth and great!
This is another mask that I really enjoyed and I want to try more from this collection.

Feb 7 – IlliYoon Tencel Skin Mask in Lotus
This mask smells soapy, but light. It’s pleasant.
This mask’s material is thick so it’s a bit stiff and it raises more easily from the face. I cut between the eyes and I folded it back at the temples, but otherwise the fit was good. This mask is not drenched in essence like the other masks but it has just enough.

The packaging was all in Korean so I used the Google Translate app to translate it.
I kept it on for 15 minutes. After I removed it, it didn’t even take a full minute to massage in the remaining essence on my face. There was barely any tackiness to my skin so I proceeded with the rest of my routine as usual, minus the sleeping mask.
My face felt nice and soft.
This mask was nice, but I prefer thinner masks so I don’t plan on trying more from this collection.

Final Thoughts
I hadn’t done a face mask since summer 2020 and I sure missed it. I’m having so much fun doing this month of masking!
My least favourite mask of the week was the A’PIEU Icing Sweet Bar Sheet Mask in Watermelon because it just did not fit well on me; the holes were way too small. It’s too bad because the material was so thin and soft.
There were a few masks that I really liked and want to try more from those lines/collections:
- ARITAUM Fresh Power Essence Mask in Collagen – this one is not as thin as I usually like them, but my face felt SO SOFT once I was done.
- Étude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask in Hyaluronic Acid – super thin, great fit, loved it!
- It’s Skin Collagen Nutrition Mask Sheet – thin, great fit, great mask!
