For Father’s Day yesterday I wanted a nail polish that would go well with the top I was planning on wearing, and I also wanted something with a little bit of sparkle because I wanted my nails to have a little extra oomph to them. When I spotted Essie‘s Lot’s of Lux in the stash I received from my sister-in-law I knew right away that it was it! Let’s take a look at it…
Lot’s of Lux is described as a shimmering lapis lazuli with a superfine matte finish. This is also a textured polish, which I didn’t know and only realized after the first coat was dry. When I picked it up I thought this was just a glitter bomb and was ready to layer on the glossy topcoats to have a smooth and shiny finish, so at first I was taken aback by the textured finish. But in the end I absolutely LOVED it! AND, to add to the love, this is a ONE COATER! Isn’t it just absolutely gorgeous?!?
It’s always hard to describe what’s in a textured nail polish because it’s not easy to see like it is for glitter polishes. I took a macro shot so you can see what it looks like up close.
This nail polish has such a beautiful sparkle that is so hard to capture on camera. Here is a picture of my nails in direct sunlight.

This is not what I expected my nails to look like when I sat down to do them, but this actually turned out BETTER than what I expected. I was so happy!
