I bought a lot of things in October. I’ve been in the mood for more clothes lately so I went for it. I’m also sharing some activity-related products; going more lifestyle with my post. There were a few beauty products too though; I don’t think I could go a full month without buying ANY beauty products, hee-hee. So let’s dive into my October purchases…

Note: only the Old Navy and Oculus links are affiliates, the rest are NOT.
Beauty Products

SkinMedica – Total Defense and Repair SPF 34 – I was previously using the tinted version of this sunscreen, but for the winter I’ve decided to go tint-free because I hate how makeup rubs off on toques and scarves. I really like the sunscreen so I bought the regular (tint-free) version from BeautySense.
SkinCeuticals – H.A. Intensifier – I needed a new hyaluronic acid serum, and I want to transition to pharmaceutical grade skincare for a while to see the improvements my face could possibly have. I also bought this product on BeautySense.
Bio Seaweed Gel – UNITY Gel Nail Polish – As always, I bought the UNITY polishes that were part of the month’s special discounts; these were the October colours. Me likey! (obviously, lol!)
Clothing
Alright, time to look at ALL the clothes I bought! For size reference, I’m 5’6″ and weigh 135 lbs. My usual pant size is a 6 and my bra strap size is 32.
Aura Yoga Wear
Here’s the story… I won a giveaway back in February for a pair of leggings from Aura Yoga Wear. In October it occurred to me that I never received my prize, so I contacted the giveaway host (who was collaborating with Aura) and they got me in touch with the company. Aura does not give items as giveaway prizes anymore, they give a $50 discount to their online store. So that’s what I ended up receiving. I really need more workout bras so I decided to use it towards one of their workout tops. I ended up paying $16 because using the discount removed the free shipping. But I really can’t complain because this sports bra is SO COMFORTABLE, and LOOK AT THAT BACK!!! This is the Classic Merlot Divinity Crop Top and I absolutely LOVE IT! I bougth a size small.

Décathlon
Décathlon quickly became one of my favourite sporting stores after I first visited it at the beginning of the summer; both for clothing and sports equipment. They appeared in my June purchases, and I already bought more this month so they’ll be in my November purchases too!

100 Sweatshirt in Pink – This one is on clearance so sizes are limited, but it’s only $15 so I just HAD to get it! It’s really comfortable, and not too hot. The inside is not fuzzy, but it’s still soft. I bought a size XS. I would have bought a size small if they had it (for extra bagginess), but they were sold out. I’ve been wearing this one a lot.
Long-Sleeved Organic Cotton Yoga T-Shirt in Purple – This shirt is SO comfortable and it’s quickly become one of my favourites! I wear it so often; it pairs well with almost all of my SweetLegs leggings! It’s only $20. It’s not on sale, that’s the regular price. I bought a size small.

500 Women’s Fitness Cardio Training Tank Top in Pink – This is another top that’s on clearance and it’s only $10! It pairs so well with black bottoms and I love the back. I bought a size small.
Seamless 7/8 Yoga Leggings in Dark Green – Another clearance item and this one is no longer available on the site; these were down to $20. They’re so comfortable! I was hoping to get more colours of this style, but this was the only colour left that had my size. I bought a size medium.

Mountain Trekking Liner Gloves Trek 500 – Purple – I needed new gloves that were touch-screen friendly so I could use my phone with them. They’re not the warmest gloves so not good for long phone use in the cold, but they do the job if you need to check your phone from time to time or play a bit of Pokémon Go. 😉
Hug Ski Neck Warmer in Pink – I didn’t need this neck warmer, but I just wanted it, lol! At $9 it just fell into my cart. 😛
Old Navy
The Old Navy items were purchased during their 50% off everything sale.

Old Navy – High-Waisted Elevate CozeCore Color-Blocked Leggings – These are so comfortable! I bought a size small and I have to admit that they are borderline too small, but because of the material that they’re made of (87% polyester, 13% spandex), they work; they don’t look stretched out or too tight. I had bought other leggings at the same time and those looked tight because they were black on the outside and white on the inside and you could see the white bleeding through. So I returned those. Anywho, back to these leggings. LOVE! The first time I wore them was for leg day so I squatted and lunged in them a lot and all was good.
Soft-Brushed Flannel Scarf for Women in Pink Plaid – This scarf is SO SOFT! This colour is no longer available, but they still have a lot more options left.
Novelty Ankle Socks 6-Pack for Women in Palm Beach – I love ankle socks and couldn’t resist this set. Unfortunately, this set is no longer available as well, but they have lots of other packs left.
Lightweight Athletic Ankle Socks 5-Pack for Women in Camo – I also grabbed more workout socks, and these ones/patterns are still available. They have a tighter fit than the novelty socks, and if I wear them for too long they aggravate my Dermatographia where the elastic is. But otherwise they’re comfy and great for working out.
Slippers & Socks

Dollarama – Slippers – These were either $4 or $3.50, I can’t remember. They’re really comfortable. They have little grips underneath so you won’t slide all over the place. They’re little stick-on rounds and I’ve already lost a few, lol! But I don’t care. The packaging said size 6-10, but I’m usually a size 8.5-9 and these just fit. So I’m not sure these would be comfortable for someone who has size 10 feet; they may be too tight. I really like them though and I’ve been wearing them almost daily!
Amazon – Rechargeable Heating Socks – Here is something I NEVER thought I’d buy: HEATING SOCKS! Because of the pandemic, we did not put our daughter in the after-school care program, so once she gets home from school I take her to the park (we have parks that are not busy in the neighbourhood). I just sit and watch while she plays so I get chilly quite fast. I was initially looking up the HotHands warmers but didn’t like that they are one-time use only and all the waste they would create. And my search brought me to these socks. And O-M-G they are AMAZING! They really work!!! They have three heat levels so you can adjust them depending on how cold you are. I have not tried them in colder temperatures yet (below 0°C), but so far they’ve worked great. They’re tall socks to fit into tall boots, but for now, I fold them down so they fit perfectly with my current boots. I bought them in size medium.
Walmart

Walmart – Long Puffer Jacket – Last month I bought the short puffer jacket, and this month I bought the long one. This is from their house brand George and is only $25! It’s unfortunately sold out online right now, but it’s so worth it if you can find it in-store. It’s been my go-to coat this Fall; I absolutely love it! This one comes with a hood (the short one doesn’t), and it has a little pouch that you can roll up the coat into. I bought a size XS.
Lifestyle
I decided to include these items in my post because I use them A LOT.

Amazon – Hudora 14724 Adult Kick Scooter – This is definitely one of my FAVOURITE purchases! I use it almost daily when I take my daughter to the park. She has one too (smaller for her size) so we scooter together. It’s so much fun!!! It sure gives your legs a workout because when you push to go forward it’s like lunging, so if you’re going fast or far, the leg you don’t push with gets lunged all the way. So it’s a good idea to switch legs once in a while. Another thing to note is that there are no shocks on this so you have to be careful at times. Sidewalk cracks can hit HARD. But still, LOVE THIS!!!

Oculus – Quest 2 – We used to have the Oculus Rift, which needs to be plugged in to a PC to work. We loved it, but the cord was a bit annoying, and our daughter was younger at the time and we were afraid we may clock her in the head if she got too close to us, especially when we played after she went to bed (in case she would come down). When you put the headset on you’re fully immersed in your game and can’t see or hear who and what is around you. So we sold it. That was a couple of years ago. Then, this September we saw ads to pre-purchase the Quest 2 and we immediately jumped on it! (1) it’s cordless, and (2) our daughter is older and understands that she can’t get close to us when we’re using the headset. It shipped mid-October and WE LOVE IT! My favourite game, and the only one I play actually, is Beat Saber. You can watch the video below to get an idea of what the game is like. I often play it for a light cardio session. It’s just so much fun. We bought the Linkin Park song pack and it’s so good!
If you get a warning on the video below about “content owned by someone else”, it’s because I’m playing to a Linkin Park song. You can Watch on Facebook, I PROMISE it’s my video.
And that’s it for October. I think it’s enough though, LOL! If you got this far, whether you read it all or just browsed through, thank you for sticking around!
Do you see anything you’ve tried, bought, or are interested in?
– Chantal 🙂
