Monthly Purchases: June 2020

Let’s take a look at my shopping habits, shall we? Am I staying good and only buying what I need, or am I starting to splurge and buying just for fun? Let’s find out what I bought in June!

monthly purchases june 2020

repurchased product = repurchase (either same product/brand, or a different brand replacing same type of product)

Skincare

Delon+ – Cotton Rounds repurchased product I buy these in bulk at Costco (I’m only showing one here to save on space). They’re soft on the face and work great at removing nail polish.

Dove – Advanced Care Go Fresh Cool Essentials Antiperspirant repurchased product I buy these in bulk at Costco too (only showing one again). However, I may return this package (it’s unopened, the one I’m showing is one I have left from before). I started using the Perspirex that I received and have really been liking it, so I may not go back to antiperspirants. We’ll see.

Maybelline – Fit Me! Loose Finishing Powder in 20 Light Medium repurchased product I bought this powder in May, but I forgot to include it in that month’s purchases. So here it is. Now that I have a tan I need a darker setting powder (I use one daily over an oil-controlling primer). I bought this one thinking it would work, but it’s too pale and yellow. I’m also more tanned now than when I bought it in May (and it didn’t work back then) so it really is a no-go. Womp womp.

Nu Skin – Epoch Baobab Body Butter repurchased product I’ve tried this body butter before and it’s really nice. Apparently it’s also a good mosquito repellent so I bought it again in case I need it for that. I have not tested that claim yet so I can’t say if it really works or not.

Nu Skin – IdealEyes Eye Cream repurchased product I used this eye cream before and at the time had noticed an improvement in my eye area. So I bought it again to see if it would help again (it’s been a couple of years since I last used it). My current thoughts are the same as they were for the Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream: some days I think my eye area looks better, and other days it’s the same as it’s always been. So I’m not really sure that it improved anything this time.

Full disclosure: Nu Skin is a MLM and I have an account with them. I don’t actively work the business, but I can still sell their products.

Yeouth – Hyaluronic Acid Serum repurchased product I discovered this brand when they contacted me to review their Day/Night Cream (posted on my IG). I was curious about their other products so I decided to buy this one to try it out (after I finished the one from The Ordinary). I really like the pump on this one, I find it easy to use and control amounts. Other than that, it feels the same as the one from The Ordinary.

Accessories

My earlobes are stretched to a size 0G (8mm). Well, they are finally both at 0G now. For the past year and a half (or so), my right ear has been at 0G and my left ear was stuck at 2G (6mm). It just didn’t want to do the final stretch to 0G. So I found a place that sells odd-numbered sizes and bought a taper of size 1G (7mm). That was back in February (I didn’t include it in my purchases because I forgot). With that taper I was finally able to bring my left ear to 0G – it’s been there for about two weeks now. Since I knew the end of my stretching journey was coming I bought some new ear accessories from Pierced Universe. I got the rainbow spirals and some screw on tunnels. They’re all made of surgical steel (to prevent allergic reactions) and that makes the spirals REALLY heavy! Those will be good to help my left ear get stretchier (the skin is tight when it’s newly stretched). I have not worn the tunnels yet because my left ear is not stretchy enough to put them in.

Clothing

I don’t have that much casual summer clothes; it’s mostly work clothes. And in the house I often wear comfy pants because we have the AC on. However, being at home all the time now and being more active with my daughter, I need more summer wear. A couple of months ago we discovered the Décathlon store in Ottawa and it’s our new favourite store! We’ve bought so many things there already (which you’ve seen if you watch my IG stories). We got rollerblades, protective gear, and a scooter for our daughter, a helmet for myself, a sun shelter for the park/beach, a turnball junior game, pool toys, and more! I guess you could say we’re a little bit addicted. 😀

They also have LOTS of sportswear! So, obviously, I had to get a few items. 😉 I bought a black tank, a green tank, some yoga shorts (both colours), and some black shorts. For some odd reason, the yoga shorts in black are bigger than the pink/grey ones, even though they’re the same style and size. Oh well, no biggie. All the clothing items are very comfortable and perfect for heading out with my daughter.

And those were my purchases for June. Buying new clothes was fun because it’s been a while since I bought any.

Do you have any favourite stores I should check out?
