Monthly Empties: May 2020

Part of me feels like the days are dragging on, but at the same time we’re already mid June. I won’t lie, I’m tired. Mentally, emotionnally, I’m exhausted. I’m doing all I can to make this pandemic and quarantine as easy for my daughter as possible and it’s a lot of work. But that’s a discussion for another post. Personal hygiene is still going on so products are being used. Let’s take a look at what I finished in May.

Body Care

Hawaiian Tropic – Sunscreen SPF 30 in Spray and Lotion Green light - loved it We’re huge fans of these sunscreens here. My husband prefers the spray version, and my daughter and I love the lotion version. These smell so good, and the lotion is moisturizing so it helps keep our skin moisturized when we’re swimming a lot (since water dries out the skin).

Nair – Wax Ready-Strips Green light - loved it I waxed my entire legs last month so I used up a pack and a half (I had half a pack left from before, and used up one that I bought in April). These work great, and picked up the hairs on my upper legs no problem (I have finer hairs there).

Schick – Hydro Silk refills Red light - dislike These are the ones for sensitive skin and I really didn’t like them. After one use, the strip that hydrates the skin as you’re shaving was pretty much done/useless. I still used them all up, and stretched their use as long as possible, but I’m so happy to be done with them!

Face Care

Caudalie – Premier Cru The Eye Cream* Green light - loved itOrange light - it's okay This eye cream gets a mixed rating. I rarely see any improvement in my eye area with eye creams, and I don’t feel like this one did anything either, so that’s what the orange dot is for. The green dot is for the texture and feeling because this eye cream really felt luxurious and I loved it.

CeraVe – Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid* Green light - loved it This serum had a nice texture and was absorbed really well into the skin. I was already using hyaluronic acid before starting this serum and my skin remained the same once I switched over. Things didn’t get worse so I take that as a good sign. The only negative thing I have to say is that it didn’t last long enough; I wish the product was bigger. Using this twice a day, I think it lasted just a little over a month.

Marcelle – Micellar Water for Normal Skin (R) Green light - loved it This is the one I always buy. Love the pump and it works great.

Hard Candy – Blurring & Pore Refining Loose Finishing Powder Green light - loved it This setting powder worked really well for me. I have nothing bad to say about it and would buy it again.

Monat Samples Green light - loved it I received these Monat samples to try out and they were nice. They didn’t last long enough for me to notice any difference/improvements with my skin and for that reason I won’t be purchasing them full size (they were good, but didn’t wow me). But my skin didn’t react to them and they smelled nice – especially the Skin Revitalizing Essence because it had mango in it (I think it was mango) and it smelled fruity and SO good.

Shiseido – Facial Cotton (R) Green light - loved it It’s been a long time since I bought these cotton pads from Shiseido because I’ve been buying the ones from Costco. But back in December I got some in my SDM haul and it’s been nice to use them again.

Hair Care

Schwarzkopf – Bonacure Moisture Kick Shampoo Green light - loved it This shampoo smelled really nice and worked well. I bought it because my hair was really dry, but it has SLS in it so I didn’t want to use it on my freshly coloured hair. I used it a bit when my colour was faded out, but I used it mostly on my daughter.

And those are all the products that I finished last month. Have you tried any of them?
