Body Care

Antipodes – Joyful hand & body cream Green light - loved it I only used this as a hand cream and I loved it! It smelled wonderful, but I don’t know how to describe the scent. It also moisturized really well and left my hands feeling soft. I got this one from my friend Vanessa at Blush & Rose Beauty Bar. She doesn’t carry Antipodes anymore, but she has other great brands that you’ll see in my purchases. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aveeno – Skin Relief Body Wash Green light - loved it (R) This is a new holy grail product for me. I have Dermatographia and using exfoliating gloves to wash my body makes me itch all over for a good half hour. It drives me NUTS. But not with this body wash! It has something in it that relieves itchy skin and it definitely works for me. I can use other soaps if I don’t use my exfoliating gloves, but at least once a week my skin needs a good scrub and I NEED this soap for that.

Face Care & Makeup

elf – halo glow setting powder Green light - loved it I don’t really use makeup anymore, but there are a few products that are part of my morning routine and one of them is a setting powder. I like to use one because it helps control oiliness during the day. This one worked well.

essence – mosaic compact powder Green light - loved it This powder acted like a bronzer for me so I used it this summer in combination with the setting powder so that my face better matched my tanned body. It smelled like coconut, SO GOOD! I also can’t believe that I finished a bronzer!

Shiseido – Facial Cottons Orange light - it's okay (R) These used to be my favourites, but it’s been a while since I purchased them. This pack pilled a lot more than I remember them to and I was always left with some fuzzy bits on my face. I’ll stick to the ones from Costco for now.

Yes To – Cucumbers Soothing Facial Wipes Red light - dislike These didn’t work for me at all. They actually made my face burn. It didn’t turn red, but it just had this little burning sensation. Instead, I’d use them to clean my hands while doing my morning makeup back when I was going to the office. I have not used them since and whatever was left dried up.

Hair Care

Garnier Whole Blends – Castor Oil & Maple Sap Restoring Shampoo Green light - loved it I received this product from Influenster for review purposes. When it comes to hair products I always buy salon brands. It’s a little luxury that I buy for myself. My hair is dried up from colour treatments and it’s always a tangled mess after I wash it. Especially since it really needs a trim right now. This shampoo and conditioner duo impressed me hard! (Conditioner to come in a later empties post.) After only using the shampoo I could tell that my hair felt less tangled, and the conditioner is just as good! I was afraid that it would weigh my hair down, but it didn’t. And it really left my hair less tangled than usual; it was easier to comb out. It smelled really nice too. Not quite like maple syrup, but it had a sweet scent. My daughter loved it too.

gรถt2b – Fresh it Up Dry Shampoo Green light - loved it This dry shampoo had a fresh scent that was very pleasant. It worked really well too. It had a slight white cast, but it easily went away when I fluffed out my hair.

And that’s it for my beauty empties from September! There were some good products and some not so good products.

Have you tried any of these?
